AQVE ROMANE

Laura Biagiotti adds the Aqve Romane collection to its “olfactory wardrobe”. The three refined, elegant, and radiant fragrances, each designed by a different master perfumer (Paolo Cerizza, Suzy Le Helley and Guillaumme Flavigny), are united by the same common thread: Rome. The city where Laura and Lavinia Biagiotti have always lived, worked, created and produced collections and projects and sponsored important patronage collaborations.

Lavinia Biagiotti said: “The Aqve Romane collection sublimates the icons of the Eternal City: the artistic opulence, great cinematographic beauty, and lifestyle. It captures the essence of Rome: the lightness of the stones that, through alchemic magic, dissolve in the water of the fountains. It is an invitation to express new creative lightness, without losing one’s strength.”

THE DESIGN

The design of the bottles explicitly recalls the silhouette of circular Roman temples like the one dedicated to Diana at Villa Borghese, the temple of Vesta in the Imperial Forums, or the temple of Hercules at Forum Boarium. It is a very iconic shape that is emblematically linked to the artistic tradition of Rome. The architectural glass cap was inspired by Doric capitals. The transparency of the bottles reveals the different colors of each fragrance: peachy pink for Ambrosia Aurea, aqua green for Divinum Ficus, and wine red for Uva Dulcis. An elegant white label, identical for all three fragrances, bears the name of the collection in black Roman lettering.

THE PACKAGING

Every detail is carefully curated. The external packaging is made of matte paper in a matching shade that recalls the particular nuance of the liquid of each fragrance. Silver lettering and the square white label embellished with the collection logo create an elegant contrast.

THE CAMPAIGN

The simple but striking visual recalls another fundamental element of Roman architecture: fountains. Grandiose and spectacular, they celebrated the beauty and wealth of Rome. Beloved by tourists who throw coins in them for good luck, many Roman fountains were the sets for iconic films like Fellini’s “La Dolce Vita” and are a universal symbol of the Eternal City. It is no surprise that the Biagiotti fashion house, with roots in the history of Rome, has always sponsored through its patronage the restoration and conservation of some of the city’s most important fountains. The Aqve Romane collection could not help but pay homage to this unbreakable bond based on their origin, inspiration and success with a visual that shows the three fragrances placed on a crystalline surface of water rippled by a light breeze and crossed by a poetic light that enhances the architectural silhouette. It is a small, discreet olfactive monument.
